This limited-edition artwork pays homage to Tangaroa, the revered Māori atua of the sea, whose influence guides all life within the waters of Aotearoa and beyond. His presence on the blade represents strength, guardianship, and the deep relationship between paddlers, their waka, and the ocean they move through.
 
Design Story
The artwork depicts Tangaroa emerging from the depths, surrounded by shifting currents and ocean energy. His stance, adorned with traditional patterns and flowing forms, symbolises mana, movement, and kaitiakitanga, the responsibility to honour and protect the moana.
